Gerlinde Thomas is a self-taught artist who lives and works in the Blue Mountains, NSW.
Her works are instinctive and the result of trial and error. Over the past 10 years, she had held 7 solo exhibitions and participated in over 40 group exhibitions. Awards include Judges Prize, Portraiture Prize and Highly Commended in the local Chamber awards for Arts and Entertainment.
Her work has been used to promote various events including BMAN; Art at the movies, Light projection onto the Hydro Majestic Hotel in Medlow Bath, Artwest Exhibition; St Mary's and the Springwood Art Show.
She has been published in Blue Mountains Life Magazine for Art in Artspace, OzArt Magazine Autumn and several articles in the Blue Mountains Gazette. She also self published a book, based on the 30 Artists she painted for her solo 'On the Face of it' exhibition.
Gerlinde's has a comprehensive body of work currently being displayed at the Cancer Wellness Support Robyn Yates Centre, Leura where a cross section of her transitioning work can be viewed and purchased, with a percentage of sales going to support the Centre.
Her work can also be viewed on Bluethumb and Instagram. Gerlinde is available for commissions. The method for portraits varies according to the time available and may be from live sittings, photos or a combination.
